Spokane Green Drinks, Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Spokane Green Drinks events are held the 2nd Tuesday of each month starting at 5:30pm at various locations.  Green Drinks is a monthly, free and informal networking events for “eco-professionals” and anyone interested in conversation, conservation and/or cocktails.

“Happy Laundry”).

Proceeds from both contributions at Green Drinks and a portion of laundry sales that night will benefit the Northeast Youth Center, http://www.spokaneneyc.org, which provides low-cost recreational and educational opportunities for Spokane youth.

This month’s Green drinks will start at 5:30pm on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009 at the Mission Village Laundry.

“Yes We Can. Build community with free food, free gifts, free knowledge! Local chefs prepare locally-grown food for us, and while we munch away we’ll learn about the food/global climate change connection through supporting Slow Food, Co-ops, Sustainable Agriculture, and Farmers Markets.”

Chewelah Earth Day Fair Saturday, April 25th, 2009

The Chewelah Farmers Market Presents the Chewelah Earth Day Fair 2009.  The even will take place on Saturday, April 25th, 2009 from 10am to 4pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, N. 202 2nd St. W. Chewelah, WA 99109.

Crafters, Growers and Vendors wanted!  Prices for outside spaces will be $10, and inside spaces will be $15.

Free Screening of the Film “Red Gold” Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

“Red Gold,” a film celebrating the salmon way of life, will be presented for free at Gonzaga University at the Cataldo Globe Room at 7pm on Tuesday, February 10th, 2009.  A panel discussion and audience Q & A will follow the screening.

Spokane Tilith is hosting an open forum to help connect producers and consumers of good, healthy and local foods on Saturday, February 28th, 2009 at the Community Building Lobby (35 W Main) from 12pm to 4pm.  View the flyer for more information.

“Creating a Sustainable Future for Agriculture in the Pacific Northwest” is the title of the conference being held February 10th, 11th, and 12th at the Shilo Inn in Richland, Washington.

Participation in this conference is open to everyone interested in sustainability.  Project graduates and special guests will summarize their experiences with sustainability during the last decade.
