Solar 101.

Bruce Gage of EcoDepot will discuss the basics of solar electric energy. This three hour workshop will provide you with information on how to best incorporate solar into your home or business. Interactive discussion will include the latest solar technologies and product presentation, including products available at Sun People Dry Goods. Also conversation about the financial and tax incentives for “gettin’ green from the ground up”…and going Solar!

Winter Garden Planning Part 2: Seed Starting for the Garden.

Starting seeds for your garden early provides an opportunity to grow exactly the garden varieties you want and can actually save you some money when the garden season starts. In this workshop, Pat Munts, local garden writer with 33 years of gardening experience in our area, will lead us through the steps and techniques to successfully starting seeds. Learn best practices including lighting, temperature and humidity, soil, and containers; different items from the pantry you can grow; and how to avoid common problems when starting seeds indoors. Winter is a great time to design your vegetable garden. In this workshop, local gardening expert Pat Munts, will lead us through the basics of designing the garden in relation to your unique lot and the specific food crops you want to grow.
