Fair Trade: Green Business Luncheon

Intentional consumer decisions to purchase fair trade items help alleviate poverty, empower artisans, promote gender equity, ensure safe working conditions, encourage better environmental practices of production and more! Sustainable Agriculture: Green Business Luncheon

Healthy food is increasingly on people’s minds but organic farming doesn’t work at the scale required for growing wheat, so Shepherd’s Grain is pioneering a new approach that’s better for all concerned. Fred Fleming (Reardan, WA) of Shepard’s Grain will share the success he and other area wheat farmers have had with direct seeding as a way to reduce pollution and increase soil fertility.

Happy New Year, GreenDrinkers!  Can you believe it is 2012 already?!
What better way to warm up on a chilly January evening than to come
out for GreenDrinks at Roast House Coffee (423 E Cleveland Ave, suite
C)!  Take a look around the facility, enjoy fresh-brewed piping-hot
coffee (as well as our usual adult beverages), and catch up with all
your GreenDrinks friends.

We'll meet Tuesday, January 10th, starting around 5:30pm.  Stay for
the whole evening or just drop in and say hi, either way, we'll be
glad to see you.

Montana Permaculture Design Course and Sepp Holzer Advanced Training

A) A 15-day permaculture design course led by Michael Pilarski and Marisha Auerbach.
B) An 11-day advanced permaculture training with Austrian master permaculturist Sepp Holzer.
There is a two day overlap.
  • The courses are held at The Place of Gathering, a 95-acre site near Flathead Lake which is an inholding within the boundaries of the Flathead Indian Reservation. We are inviting members of the Salish and Kootenai tribes to participate.
  • There is a January 1 deadline for early bird registration.
  • This is a rare opportunity to learn from Sepp Holzer in person.  If you have been wanting to take a permaculture design course, consider this one.  An intensive, residential course in beautiful Montana.

6 Weekends Permaculture Design Course in Spokane, Washington

Every other weekend from January 20-21 to March 30-April 1
Instructed by Michael Pilarski, Ed Bryant and local guests.
$500 to $700 sliding scale. This low-cost course is geared for people in Spokane and adjoining areas of Washington and Idaho. We expect most of the peopole will be able to commute from their homes. If you are from out of town, we can come up with homestays on the course weekends with friends in/near Spokane.
