Earth Day Spokane—Takin’ it to the Streets

When: Saturday, April 17th, 2010 from 11a.m. to Midnight

· Community booths, vendors, and music/performance outside from 11a.m. to approximately 5 p.m.

· Live music, performers, and food/beverage vendors inside the Community Building Warehouse until midnight.

Where: Main Street (between Browne and Division).

Come Celebrate Mother Earth with Us for the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day!

* Dozens of FREE Earth-Friendly Activities for children of all ages, including: planting veggies, building birdfeeders, recycled art projects, sidewalk chalk art, face painting, costume/drum making for the procession of the species, and MUCH more! The WSU Raptor Club will be there with rescued owls and other raptors!
* Live music, roller derby, belly dancing, spoken word and other performance art! Local food vendors will be there all day!
* Art, art and more art! Including: the demolition and reconstruction of seven retired pianos destined for the waste-to-energy plant. They will be re-assembled into one recycled music-making monster!
* FREE admission to films at the Magic Lantern Theater!
* Tours of the Main Market, Community Building and the Saranac Building (the first Platinum Certified Green Building in Spokane!). And demonstrations/activities by dozens of local businesses!
* Eco Depot will be there will all kinds of solar-powered gadgets!
* Live music, dancing and local beverages inside the Community Building Warehouse until midnight!
